Western union offer a prepaid visa card, they make a promise of no credit check so you can be certain not to get refused for the card. The card costs $9.95 to activate , $4.95 each time you load cash to it and there is also a minimum charge of $30. The western union prepaid visa also charges you a minimum of $2 per ATM withdrawal. What I don't understand about this is why someone would get a prepaid credit card instead of using a debit card. If you have to load money onto it then its the same things as using a debit card to take money out of your bank account.

I refuse to use any credit card, prepaid or not, that charges activation fees, usage fees, and fees to hold the thing in my hand. It's ridiculous and why half the US is in financial trouble.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any credit cards, and most of the time I'm very happy about that.
ReplyDeleteThat Western Union prepaid looks ridiculous, they're making money no matter what you're doing. It looks like you could spend much of the money you put on the card in fees.
